They have found isometric or static exercises where you contract muscles without moving them like planks or wall sits are much more effective at lowering systolic and diastolic blood pressure than cardio or other forms of strength training...
The takeaway, perhaps these should start to be a part of everyone's training regimen for health reasons if nothing else.
