"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Ok this just popped into my head so i decided to post it. (btw im fairly new here, but im not a new DJ) For those of you who have girlfriends, is she just strictly your girlfriend, or is she your best friend too?

me and my gf are best friends. lol and its not cause we dont have other friends, we just really get along super well on a friends level.

I think its definately a good thing, cause it seems like a lot of times people break up its because they get together after knowing each other for a short period of time, and then later on down the road they see a side of them they dont like and get turned off to them.

its a good combination, best friends + attraction = really good healthy relationship. so what think ye?

p.s. if anyone here is subscribed to david deangelos interview series PLEEEEASE PM me! thanks!

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

oh kid it totally depends.........................

A friend is someone who believes in you, thus, supports your desires and wishes, and also looks out for your best interest in situations. A friend always has your back and takes up for you.

Your girl could be this, or should could just be the ***** you go to for ***** and just to carry around as a trophy. If you want her to be your friend, remember, you cant buy friends. You cant convince someone to be your friend, they see you and decide for themselves. If you are already together, and she has not acted like the friend I described above, she is not your friend. Does not mean she wont stay with you as your girlfriend, because she is attracted to you. She does not HAVE to be your friend, she might not agree with your dreams, but just like you and want to be with you. As for ME, I cant be in a relationship with a ***** if she aint my friend. Because if she aint my friend, why in the hell are we in a relationship, we just might as well be fvcking partners. You got me.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Hell NO! My room mate is my best friend. I have to depend on him to come up with half the rent/utilities everymonth and to help me out when i'm in a jam with hulking drunk tourist or if there are a pair of hotties and one of us needs a wingman, don't have to say a word, he's there for me and i'm there for him.. The level of trust I have with him is unquesitionalble.

I could lose my girlfriend tomorrow, and yeah i'd be sad, but if I lost my room mate i'd be sad and pissed and scared cause i'd have no where to go!

I wouldn't say my woman is my best friend. She's my wife. I don't go drinking with her, I don't talk to her about other hot women, we have sex, I touch her boobs, we live in the same house, talk about having kids, etc etc.

However, I TREAT her like she's my best friend. I call her names, I'll throw stuff at her, I'll make fun of her, all in good fun of course and she does it back to me. We usually end up busting a gut when we're playful with each other.

I always thought that's what a girlfriend was. A best friend with tits to suck on.

There is nothing wrong to be friends with a woman you are fvcking ... now, the trouble comes when you find a girl who should be acting like a woman and instead looks up to you like some sort of father figure. You can't be friends with those type of girls, you have to be authoritative.

Your gf should never be your best friend. Infact you should just have mostly male friends. Females should be kept strictly for dating and being your girlfriend (mostly).
like the saying goes "Female friends? I have no female friends, I only have girlfriends," keep women as that, your girlfriends.

Friends should be your pals, the guys you do manly stuff with, like hanging out watching sports, going to play pool etc. Men don't need female friends as long as they have a girlfriend. If you have a girlfriend you don't need to hang out with other females, keep that spot reserved to your pals to do fun stuff and hang out. Hanging out with female friends only leads to being turned into a sissy/metrosexual. It is just not healthy.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Chicks always say that your girlfriend should be your best friend. It doesn't work that way. If you are best friends with your gf, then she equates you to that: a friend. Don't ever tell her she is your best friend. She is your girlfriend, meaning you have sex with her.

I think the problem in this thread is that people have different definitions of what being a friend means.

If being a friend to someone, to you, means sharing feelings, have weak moments together, doing nice things for eachother all the time, being there in times of need, endlessly talking on the phone, making sacrifices for eachother....and doing these things a LOT - You're fvcked, prepare for a cluster bomb of testing on a regular basis and for her to be generally uphappy.

If being a friend to someone, to you, is more like desdinova describes you're golden, since girls love this kind of behavior.

However, I TREAT her like she's my best friend. I call her names, I'll throw stuff at her, I'll make fun of her, all in good fun of course and she does it back to me. We usually end up busting a gut when we're playful with each other.
I equate being "best friends" with women to "Being able to hang out together and get along reallly well"

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Don't fall into the trap of being "friends" with your gf, or else it will probably bite you in the ass eventually bceause although not blatantly obvious, it actually changes her feeling towards you a little bit, even if she doesn't think so.

My gf tried to call me her friend once, and i told her that she is not my friend; she is my girlfriend, and there's a big difference.

Ask yourself this: if you broke up with your gf, would you two be "friends?" Would you go out for coffee as "friends?" I know I wouldn't!
