"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

A friend of mine was telling me about when, a couple of months ago, he was driving on an interstate with his girlfriend on the passenger seat and she was complaining that he was going too slow. He said that he couldn't accelerate because he was at the speed limit and didn't want to have a ticket/risk an accident. So his girlfriend called him a pvssy and said that her ex boyfriend went 10x faster than he did because he wasn't afraid to get arrested.

So my friend started to accelerate past the speed limit because he was afraid that the girl would get mad, but then he slowed down quickly because he didn't want to get arrested and he kept apologizing like crazy when the girl called him a pvssy again.

Anyway, the girl dumped him shortly after.

IMO, I'm not too sure what the guy could have done... so, I'm asking this: if I ever find myself in that kind of situation, what should I do? Accelerate to make the girl happy and risk being arrested or stay below the speed limit and get called a pvssy?

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

His mistake was actually giving into her in the first place.

So my friend started to accelerate past the speed limit because he was afraid that the girl would get mad...
If he was a self-confident man, he would have stood his ground and ignored her insults. And he sure as hell wouldn't give a damn about her getting mad or apologize to her.

Neither of those two. Stop the car, open the door and show her the way.

Look, who wants to have a girlfriend like that? He must be glad that she is out of his life. If i was that friend you mentioned i would go over the speedlimit and then while driving pushing her out of the car.
Don't concern about such things. You don't need such girl. You deserve better.

WTF? If my gf did that to me, I'd slow down to BELOW the speed limit just to spite her until she apologized. If she still kept on, I'm dumping her ass. He should have stood up for himself.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

No kidding... although I never would find myself in that position in the first place since I go around 5-10mph over, on average. Face it, the speed limit is just a little to slow... however, it sounds to me like the girl wasn't that interested in him to begin with - if she was she wouldn't be picking fights about things like how fast he does/doesn't drive. I'm in agreeance with some of the others - go as fast as you feel comfortable doing... and do it because you want to, not because someone else is pressuring you into it.

They purposely set the speed limit below what the road engineers recommend as a safe limit.... to make money.

There have been incidences where when they raise the speed limit on a road the accident rate goes down.

You guys are all braindead if you think she dumped him because of how he drives.

And you're braindead if you think that's why we think he was dumped.

Fool.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
