The USA is both the only economic superpower and military superpower. China is not an economic superpower because it can only get business by outbidding everyone else, and Russia has shown that it is not a military superpower by performing so pathetically in Ukraine. The EU is somewhat of an economic superpower, but at the end of the day, it is still just an "economic NATO", and it doesn't have the land resources to be a true superpower. A country that is a superpower in both regards is going to be the place that folks trust the most to hold its currency.

OPEC+ is only a power in its ability to supply fossil fuels at a lower cost than wealthier places can supply them; the USA has proven that if the price of oil is high enough, it can start producing oil with shale plays. And then there is the fact that fossil fuels that are not natural gas are in sunset mode, and even gas is on a slow demand decline as the world figures out how to do renewables.

Over time yes; just like any other paper currency (FIAT) they always go to zero. Always have, always will.
Not one single exception from that rule in the whole history of mankind.
