"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

who knows
alright, i met a girl 2 months ago. we dated for a week, but we broke up after a brief fight. she had to go away for the summer. i called her only twice during the summer, just to keep in touch.

so i figured that shes prolly back by now. so i sent her a text message today saying, "hi! hope everythings good with you and that youve had a good summer. are you in town? would be to fun to meet you... like saturday or friday? what do you reckon?"...

i got a message back saying "hi! thanx my summer has been good. im busy this weekend, however. im going sailing off the coast"

so what do you reckon? is she still interested. the fact that she answered my message is a good thing. but she didnt suggest another day to meet up.

should i call her later during the week or what?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

???

You expect the secrets of the universe to be revealed to you through a text message?

Unlikely. You have to be a skilled writer to create the same kinds of emotions and feelings that voice tone and body language produce, with words on paper or screen.

I wouldn't worry about the sms too much. Just call her, chat a little, and find out what you can there. *sighs* If I had a cent for everytime I saw a guy seeking interpretation of a text message

It's not astrology... and she's prolly just going to the coast, and she had a good summer. :)

She's definately not interested, but if you wanna play baseball and go for strike 3 then you can ask her out again if you'd like.

Pftttttttt DID SHE EVER CALL YOU?

If she didn’t she’s a lost cause. If a woman’s interested she will call she will even call to much.

Are you one of the dudes that still txt msgs my gf's cell phone after having not talked to her for 6 months with "i'm back in town. how you doin? wanna get 2gether?"

And then repeatedly txt msgs her even after she rarely responds and when she does is progressively meaner because the guy won't get the point even after it being blatantly obvious she has no interest whatsoever especially with the mention of her boyfriend during your brief, awkward conversations?

She has a word for those guys.

"Douche."

.. heh there's another guy who will call her from a different phone just so she'll actually answer the call.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
