Perhaps this has been covered before, but I will raise it again.

I seem to see a lot of reasonably decent looking women (7-7.5, the odd 8) walking around town at night with dweeby dorks, out of shape, slack-jawed drips.

Why the fvck is that.

I live in Auckland, New Zealand.

Anyway else from large metropolises in other parts of the world notice this phenomonen?

For every one dork you see walking around with a hot girl, there are 20 studly guys (like you??) who got cold feet, thought, "out of my league", and p*ssied out.

^Maybe so. I think (in the US at least) there has been a bit of a shift in the 'type' of guy your average girl will go for. Just sort of an undulation of culture. Classically you expect the tall stud with muscles and charm to get the lion's share, but that isnt the flavor of the moment. I'm a bigger guy and I dont find my size has any positive bearing on the amount of female attention I get. I think it used to, but not so much anymore.

Well, just going from the girls I know, they tend to like the similar 'types' of guys. Kinda skinny, a little scruffy, indie-surfer looking dudes. Maybe it's just the girls I hang with, lol. Even when I go out though, I feel like I dont get checked out HALF as much as I used to. I'm 6', 245lbs, which is bigger than average but not obnoxious. I'm not fat, I dress decent.

Sometimes I think they respond more so to clothes than they do body type. I'm serious. Girls love to shame guys for being shallow about looks but they are sometimes the worst offenders.

I think it's hard for a guy to see another guy the way a girl sees him.
We may think a guy is nothing but a girl might see him differently through her eyes.

And the reverse is often true too. Ever notice a girl will make a comment on how ugly a girl is when she's really smoking hot? And this morning my girlfriend made a comment about a girl being cute when she looked straight up nasty to me.

In Melbourne & Sydney, the current favourite of the girls is the Brit pop star look - skinny, stubble-faced but effeminate looking, emo, cute but not classically handsome guys. e.g they appear gay in pretty much every way except that they happen to like vaj instead of d1ck.

I might be paranoid but I and the shadowy figures that are hunting me down, think that there is a slow but steady global feminization of the male population. It's not some trend that started a few years ago. In the seventies women actually went wild for guys that had hair on their chest. Now a lot of girls think it's gross. Used to be a time when I guy would head down to the local watering hole for a few brews with his buddies, while the women did their women things back home. Now it's common to hear guys chirping on about how Twilight or w/e latest rom-com "wasn't that bad, actually pretty funny." Pfft, twinkle toes.

You know that saying about the frogs in boiling water? Well, that frog is hetersexual males and the boiling point is complete demasculinization.

Notwithstanding, this "get big and muscular to get girls" is the world's worst kept secret. When you go out, the bars and clubs are full of big bulky Affliction t-shirt wearing guys. Maybe it's losing it's effect because it's becoming too common. It might make the skinny pretty boy stand out more.
