I was wondering guys, is it alright to just open with anything? I'm asking cause I'm really bad openers. Here are a few I came up with but I don't use because I'm scared they won't work:

- "Hey do you cook?" then the girl says no and I say "So that means if we were going to get married one day and I asked you to cook for me one day you wouldn't be able to do it? Hah, I could see it now, me and you get married, we have a honeymoon, and the next day I ask you to cook breakfast for me, and you can't do it. Then I would divorce you and take all the money".

“The 22 Rules That Flip the Script With Women… And How You Can Use Them Tonight”

Most guys accidentally kill attraction before they even speak. They assume they need a bigger bank account, a better physique, or smoother lines. They miss the point.

Female desire operates on a specific set of psychological triggers.  Break them, and you're invisible. Follow them, and you become magnetic.

I learned this the hard way. Years of freezing up. Getting friend-zoned. Watching other guys walk away with the girl I wanted. Then I discovered a set of 22 simple rules that rewired my entire approach.

You realize self rehearsed lines you use as openers sound like rehearsed lines. Dont use pick up lines, just say what comes naturally.

Your fear is justified. Please, please, please don't use this line. You can't just go up to a girl and start talking about marraige the second you see her.

Skel is correct, rehearsed lines will sound like rehearsed lines. Open with natural conversation...always.

Here's the problem with you, Elstud, you are going into flirting way too fast. You can't just go to some random girl and start rambling that kind of stuff. She's not going to go for it. Don't flirt with her right on the opener, use the opener to open. Not to project any interest, and especially not to flirt. If you don't want to try anything too bold, then talk about funny things that are recent in the news, and media. They will love that stuff when you can keep it flowing, you don't need to go flirting with her just yet. Try it.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

saying something like that tells her you're into her before she's opened her mouth, i..e on looks alone, and unless she's some weird lse chick, or you look like brad pitt, she'll run a mile. it's also kind of creepy.
my suggestion is to talk to a stranger as if you'd talk to any other - you're both unlocking your motorbikes in the rain and you say 'nice weather for it' or some sh!t, just some comment like you couldn't give a fukk. when she responds, look her in the eye, and pause very slightly like the way she spoke back has got your attention, and THEN show some interest by asking if she's from around here or whatever.
the point is to make her think that something about her personality has got your attention, after she's had a chance to reveal some of it. until then, treat her like anyone else you randomly talk to in the street when circumstances bring you into conversation territory, also, as i've said somewhere else, you should be thinking about whether she's interesting and whether she has something to offer you, not the other way round. have her explain or qualify herself, but be gentle and curious, not sarcastic, unless she's hot and you have experience with this.

Agreement on thsi "ITs not what you say, its how you say aka BL"

now moving on ...

ur just trying to see if shes interested or not (1)

and secondly

If you know shes interested and you open her, she'll open up easily...

but if it feels like your prying a fish's mouth up...flip out 200 dollars ask her to spread her legs...(j/k this means move on)

openers are not important, just check for her interest

Rapport before attraction? I've been taught that's not a good thing to do. And I've actually gone up to a girl, rambled random stuff and gotten her interested before. Like there was this one time I just went up to a group of girls and started telling this story about how I saw this dude who looked like Jesus at a track meet. They showed tons of interest after that. If anything flirting should come first, then once she's interested go into all that rapport stuff.

Not really, I saw a girl looking at a poster approached her without giving any signs before hand and she wasn't weirded out by it. Infact, I've done that several times and girls have never really been weirded out by it.

So some of you say it matters and some of you say it doesn't. Nonetheless I did use this line a girl yesterday.

At no point did he say rapport before attraction.

Attraction is first, yes. Make HER attracted to YOU! No one said anything about you telegraphing interest.

Once she is attracted to you, you can slowly show that you are attracted to her, for legitimate reasons eg. Personality. Rather than on her looks or whatever, which is what she'll assume.

Yes you can open with anything depending on how well calibrated your energy levels are, and how advanced you are with telegraphing value subconsciously, but a lot of guys in the community take it too far. They take "You can open with anything" to be anything. I'd suggest you to stick to some well rehearsed openers that you have internalized. Note i say rehearse, but make sure it doesn't come out as if it really was rehearsed.

I've opened with "I like salad". But, that was a different ball game, I was in a high energy mood, telegraphing lots of excitement and fun, and i had something to follow up with immediately.

For you, I'd say stick to the basics, don't try anything fancy until you have the basics down.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I went to the grocery store the other day, had a cute cashier.. Threw my lucky charms on the counter and opened with "Lucky charms are the shvt."

Ended it with the number.

I do agree with most of these responses which say to not convey interest to her. And no you can't open with absolutely anything, don't show interest. All you do is show that your charming and confident, then wait til later to show some interest.

Thats how its done. This is your best bet for pickup strategies. Just make normal friendly conversation, throw in a little humor....bam!

yes. i met a girl in Las Vegas....blond girl and she said she was from colorado...i asked her if she was ever raped by Kobe Bryant.....and she didn't slap me...hah..i said it in a way that she actually laughed..looked at me weird, but then dug it....as long as you are confident enough you can say almost anythign.....the rest of the night she was all over me (another guy in the group actually was talking to her first but she lost interest fast)......what you say isn't really all that important......the way you say it and the context is what's important.....
