Hi, if you're a teacher, you're in the right thread. I am considering teaching as a career choice. Any tips? Criticisms?

Maybe for a junior teacher with little training. My bud's mom clears $70K a year, with a MA and 13 years experience. Not bad for teaching a bunch of highschool kids how to do geometry.

Nah, you'll be making close 40k/year right off the bat, for high school. Yeah, it is about 70-80k/year for teachers with a lot of experience and credentials, etc. Great benefits, and very strong union. You can also do different things for extra money. Not for everyone, though.

Yeah, I think master bates was speaking in hyperbole, but I think the only possible way a teacher could be making only 17k would be if they were in poor rural communities.

Maybe he likes to work with students/kids. You don't know why he's asking. If it is just for the money, there are plenty of jobs you can dislike that will pay you more.
