"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

It seems as if girls (women) are intimidated by a man's independence. I live on my own, work for myself and do pretty much as I please. I live life by my own rules... not those set out for us by society. I don't need a woman to be happy and I would only seriously date one if she made me a better person.

But it seems as though once they realize this, they start losing interest. It's almost as if they are getting self-conscious saying "why does he want to date me?"

I just don't understand. Their insecurities have forced me to become insecure with myself. Is there something wrong with me? Am I too skinny? Too independent? Too available? I just don't know.

Every fecking loser on this planet has a girlfriend and here I am playing "the system" and I'm getting blown off by a lot of them. I'm starting to think that "the system" has flaws in it.

Here is my "myspace" to give you a little better idea of who I am. www.myspace.com/letsgettoxic

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

You are wrong. A man's independence attracts women (and of course challenges and frustrates them too!)

There is something else. More details needed.

The fact that you are allowing things to get to you and become insecure is a problem in itself.

How can you become insecure about being independent?

Too available? Maybe. But how could that be with all the stuff you have going on? Hmm.

If you really don't need a woman to be happy, why do you observe that every fvcking loser has a girlfriend but you?

What are some examples of how you use "the system" and how you get blown off?

Bottom line, you're not getting these girls to feel something for you, right? So you may be independent and all that, but somehow leave them cold? Maybe you're too serious and don't exude warmth toward them? Who knows.

Details, details!
