"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Today I got a surprise call from the best friend of my "oneitus" so to speak. She called to wish me a happy bday. I got it on my cell, during work, so I didn't get a whole lot of time to talk to her, only a minute or so. Someone whom I barely know, whom I haven't seen or talked to in almost a year. And, someone who is now single after a LTR with a guy whom I heard was a major @sshole.

Funny thing is, I've always been attracted to her, but she was always with the bf. so nothing ever happened, and I sheilded myself against any hurt, unlike with my oneitus, who has been mostly single for the past 5 years, and who hasn't had a proper bf in over 1 year.

So, it got me to thinking... I should try to tap that @ss, now that she in on the market. I'm going to be seeing her in a club on Saturday night, as my "oneitus" friend has invited me to go with them. NOTE!!: I have never been a chump towards this chick!

She is from Afghanistan, and I guess a pseudo-muslim, although she doesn't practice (as far as I know). That means her parents (especially the dad) obviously wants her to marry a muslim as well. She actually hid her previous bf from her parents and family because he wasn't a muslim. So, this is worrisome a bit, for me anyways.

Anyways, I need to spin more plates, and since I have very few prospects, I may as well go for it. I mean, why not. So yeah, it'll be a bit of an odd situation, but I barely know this girl so it's more or less starting from a fresh deck. The only thing is that she is my "onituses" best friend, so that may be a bit awkward, but we'll see.

Any opinions are welcome!

"Nervous Around Beautiful Women? There's a Rule for That"

I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.

The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.

Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.

Hmmm... another interesting development.

My oneitus friend messaged me that this chick wants to go to the beach on Saturday, with me. Oneitus will be there too.

So, I figure, why the hell not, don't want to sound needy, but I love going to the beach and I've got some free time Saturday.

Any tips on how to handle this at the beach?

Don't expect much. Hang out at the beach, flirt a little, but nothin's gonna happen with a friend hanging around.

On Sunday, give her a call and set up something with just you.

If you're going to the beach, don't go to the club. Don't dedicate an entire Saturday, day and night, to this chaperoned non-date.

You have other things to do Saturday night (even if you really don't.)

Thanks for the bday wishes!

I'm 26 now, but things didn't go as planned...

My mom had a nasty fall and fractured her ankle in 2 places. So, she's in a cast at the moment, and has been down in the dumps. As a result, my camping plans were cut short (didn't stay overnight cuz I wanted to rush home) so I didn't get the chance to try to seduce my oneitus, as I had planned, but oh well, sh1t happens.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
