"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

Why would showing interest be a bad thing?

Do you really think a chick is conciously thinking to herself when you show interest that she does not like you because of that?

Mabye for everybody who showed interest and things went bad they were never good to begin with and the second you became attached she was never actually attached but just seeing you as potential or just a friend.

Have you ever thought of this? That she never actually liked you in the first place and that once she could tell you like her that she bails because of this, not because she does not like guys who like her.

Does this not make more sense?

I can't belive otherwise, that girls just don't like guys who like them. That goes against reality.

"She's Out of Your League"

You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.

Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.

She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.

Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.

Showing interest is kinda like surfing.

When you get it right, you get up and the wave pushes you along, but if you get too eager and get up before the wave is ready you'll wipe out, and if you're too late, the wave will pass you by.

Show a girl too much interest at first, before she's had enough time to develop an interest in you, and you'll come across as needy and desperate, but also, if you show a lack of interest she'll assume as much and move on.

I think the "don't show interest" thing is for the guys who will get shot down if they come on too strongly without approaching her the right way.

Personally, if I'm interested, i'll show it but I'll also do things that demonstrate my lack of "need" for her. There's a big difference between want and need. girls want guys that want them, not need them.

Interest is a good thing... otherwise you would never get a girl. But the amount of interest you show relative to the amount she shows is important because you can have a few scenarios:

1. You show more than her. (Leaning toward her dumping you)
2. Equal interest.
3. She shows more than you. (Leaning toward you dumping her)

If you show too much interest too quickly and more than her it makes her believe you aren't as used to receiving this kind of attention from girls and aren't as valuable. If you show less interest than her, she can really start to wonder what's so special about you and the other girls you've dated. Another problem arises when you show tons of interest and don't make a move quickly enough, but that's another story.
