Could she have said it because she was uncomfortable in the situation and because she couldn't control it by making you fix it she became even more uncomfortable?
 

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Try to find out what's going through your girl's head (easier said than done). In the meantime you have an idea what she'll do if you try to assert yourself around you so called friend, keep her out of such situations. If she can't stay away just go off someplace else with her when he starts his routine. Until then it'll help to ask her how she felt when all of that was going on. It'll give you some insight on what really needs to be done.
