Information for the DJ Chatroom

The chat room is always up and most of the time it is hosted by one or more ops - just to keep the peace and provide a presence. I'm actually pretty glad that so many of you have "parked" yourselves there.

Most of the time you can get in and expect to speak to someone. The best times are those around 00:00 GMT - when all the Americans are not sleeping or working, I guess.

Here's the information you need

Server: polaris.starchat.net
Channel: #donjuan

You can do one of two things. The best thing to do is to download an IRC client (you can get one at www.mirc.co.uk) and type the following commands when you have started it up and configured basic settings:

/server polaris.starchat.net
(wait until you've connected)
/join #donjuan

The second thing you can do is to use the web interface. Just go to www.starchat.net and the rest should be simple. The /join command above should work for the web interface too.

Please note that while the chat room is always available, there will at times be proper "hosted events". The last event was Wednesday 3rd September 2003 and the channel was maxed out with 21 people at once at one point. The log is available here:

Check times on your cool windows clock and compare to GMT if you can't figure out the time from the list above.
