"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

We are not the collective mind of the Borg. We are not controlled by a central authority. We do not think alike. We are individuals with independent opinions. The advice we provide, the counsel we offer, and the opinions we give do not represent in any way, shape, or form the advice, counsel, or opinions that are provided by others. We are not "the website". We are members of a community.

If this is your first experience on a bulletin board, you will undoubtedly feel as though the members of this community are united in some way towards a common goal. Often those new to this community will develop the opinion that we are an organization of men who just want get laid as often as possible. These newbies will also assume that becoming the suave Master Don Juan entails only appearances and "tricks of the trade".

There are a variety of personalities present in this community. Every one of us is here for different reasons. Some people are looking to change up their dreary lives. Some people seek validation of either their successes or follies. Some people search for comfort when they feel lost. Some people desire only to offer their insight into the female mind. And others remain after many years to exchange their youthful or experienced wisdom. There are also those who are desperate for sex whether due to the pressures of society or the limitations of their environment.

Every member of this community has something of value to contribute.

Yet, those seeking advice, counsel, or opinions should be wary of that which they receive. Be steadfast in your skepticism. Question perceived authorities. Be vigilant in thinking for yourself. Never accept advice, counsel, and/or opinions at face value. Always think before you act. Your life is in your hands, and only you are ultimately responsible for what you do.

Please remember that the individuals that comprise this community are people just like you and me. Treat them as people and work together if you must.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Your post reminds me of one of my favorite quotes of all time:

"Take what is useful, discard what is not" -- Bruce Lee

Addendum: "Every member of this community has something of value to contribute when they contribute something of value."
A bit of circular reasoning there, like saying "something has value only when it has value" ;)

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
