"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

I just got this line from a woman I've been talking to/hooking up with for a while completely out of the blue. Uhh okay, great, I don't want to be tied down either and never even brought up being exclusive with her. I responded by telling her that. I know what "too busy" usually means, that she's too busy FOR ME and just isn't very interested so I was prepared to next. But then she proceeded to tell me she was pissed that she "wasn't my first choice" to a formal dance I attended last week but "we can try this next semester if I want to." what? is she just trying to keep me on a string?

what's the crazy hamster up to in this case SS?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

You should have agreed and amplified.

"You're right. I've been thinking the same thing too. Being with you is just too much work and in between school and my real job, you're just a huge burden on my time."

Gross. Any chick who's jumped on the gender role reversal bandwagon and basically vocalizes to you she prizes the c@ck carousel lacks class and genuine feminine grace. NEXT!!
You're right. Deleted on all platforms and blocked.

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

OP she was preemptively dumping you. Apparently (at least what I gleaned from your story) she felt slighted that you didn't ask her to the freshman dance or some sh*t. So she withdrew and "preemptively dumped" you to save her feelings (& ego).

Either way, doesn't matter. This happens a LOT to guys like you and me who aren't interested in committing. Get used to it.

You've got two choices:

1) Say ok later b*tch and move on to other broads
2) Tell her that you're into her. She'll either not believe you and dump you anyway, OR she'll come back to you but you'll have to show signs of commitment.

I usually choose option 1.

Remember, chicks don't have sex just for pleasure. There's always another angle. Ask yourself "What is this chick getting [other than pleasure] by sleeping with me?" If the answer is "nothing," then she's not going to be around very long.

I went with option 1. Even for the couple weeks before the dance (it was a formal for my fraternity), I could feel that something was amiss. She flaked on me twice in one night after making plans to hang out, then flaked two nights in a row the following week without the slightest sign of remorse. I was actually planning on asking her to the formal, but I'm sure as hell not going to reward that kind of behavior by spending a boatload of money and a full weekend of time on a girl who lacks a basic level of respect for me and my time. Then she started in with the whole "I'm too busy to be tied down" "need my space right now" BS. Not worth anymore of my precious time in undergrad trying to figure this one out, especially by "telling her I'm into her"
