If women would drop out of the workforce and leave it to men alone what would happen?

Like title said if a law was passed tomorrow that all women except widows had to leave the workforce and return to being housewives and only men could work, what would this do to the economy?

Would it be good or bad?, explain why.

Bad, very bad.
The Rockefellers supported women's rights. When asked why they did it they said "because at the moment we can only tax half the workforce."

Would society be better? God knows. Statistically children of single mom's are over-represented in crime, mental health, divorce statistics and reduced income but there could be more complex reasons than that.
A large number of the men on here are single or acting like it, who knows how society would treat them if marriage was the norm, more so than it is today at least.
The other question is what would all those women be doing who werent married or mothers.. Getting welfare from men's taxes, starving, getting pregnant?
I dont think the economy could handle it.
I think a simpler solution is to export all 3rd wave feminists to the middle east. We can do a 1 for 1 trade. Heh heh heh. If you thought your life was bad in the states try living under Sharia law.

While this is true, it's mainly counting the idiots. I'm married with 3 kids and comfortably support them all making a very average salary. We just don't eat out 3 times/week, take 3 vacations per year or buy the newest sh*t.

What a great day for this question. At my police dept. we do reports on computer but we are required to do a shift log sheet which is still pen and paper. Today the Chief told the whole dept. that one of the female office assists had trouble reading most officers hand writing when she filed the logs. And he asked that we all try to write neater. I almost told the Chief she needs to get out of her cvnt stankin office chair and come do what we do for 8 hrs. And see how neat she can write in 95 degree heat wearing 20 lbs of grear running her ass off call to call to call like a bat out of hell. But i kept my mouth shut and just mumbled to myself.. So what would happen if she left the workplace?. I might have to file my own log sheet and I would not get asked to write neater. Oh darn.......

The specialization of modern society would kill the idea. Everyone is a specialist in something, and there are a million different specialties. A hundred years ago, there were a lot fewer occupations. One able-bodied man could do most jobs.

On the flip side of the original question, I would actually prefer that men not be allowed to work certain jobs, which have been traditionally female, like nurse, receptionist, flight attendant, secretary, day care, or elementary school teacher. I think women are naturally better at those jobs, just like men are better at a job like fire fighter, carrying unconscious people out of burning buildings.

That's the joke of Feminism in demanding that everyone is equal at everything - it robs women of recognition for being better at some things than men.
