Don't take it personally; you were the rebound guy. If she was truly ready to move on from her ex, she would've quit her job. If you get involved with a woman that is pining for her ex, you will lose no matter who you are.

As a side note, you spent entirely too much time with her. You need to leave a bit more to the imagination, especially early in a relationship, or a woman's interest in you will plummet. If you're willing to invest THAT much time in a single woman, it sends the message that you don't necessarily find yourself worthy of her. That letter she sent you is a typical "nice guy" letter--you were too available and accommodating too early.

The good news is that she's but one of many; there IS no "one that got away." The important part is that you recognize your mistakes so the same situation doesn't occur with the next one.

I know this is going to be hard to do but why beat yourself over this. It is over and she does not want you so F her and move on. From reading your post sounds like you did too much too soon.
