As the title says I want a 6-pack. Hopefully by August if possible.

Currently I'm 5'6, 146 lbs, hand-held body fat analyzer says I'm at 13% BF. I know I need to lower my BF % to see my abs. The problem is that I'm stuck at 146 since February. Last August 2007, I was 158 so I've managed to loose 12 lbs.

I've been working out about 3 times a week since August and I've gotten stronger and more defined since then. But I can't get rid of my gut :(

When ever I'm at the gym I do about 30 minutes of elliptical at the end of my work out. On my off days I play DDR in work out mode for 30-40 minutes straight.

I don't eat that much nor do I eat often. After each meal I'm still a little hungry.

So what do I do next? Any tips?

Abs aren't made in the gym, there made in the kitchen.

Why aren't you eating? Starving yourself will not reveal the six pack!!!

What are you eating? How long are you working out?

Again WHAT are you eating? The diet is 90% of the battle my friend

I have heard that saying many times. Thats why I didn't post anything about an ab routine since I'm not doing any :p

My diet

Breakfast: One of the fallowing
Bowl of cereal, most common but I'm trying to eat high fiber low sugar kinds
Oatmeal
Eggs
Pancakes
French Toast

Lunch: One of
Peanut butter and Jelly sandwich
Ham and cheese
Grilled cheese
Quesadilla
Burrito
Protein shake if it's after a work out

Dinner: Usually it's what ever my Cuban grandmother cooks and a bowl of lettuce. Cuban food is really bland so I don't fill myself up. Also I want to loose weight not gain.

Rice and beans
Rice and chicken
Some pasta thing
Some pasta thing with chicken

During the day I drink a lot of water. With meals it's mostly apple juice and some times chocolate milk.

I'm not starving myself but I don't know if I'm eating, too much, too little or just enough.

I usually do 30-40 minutes of free weights. Alternating different body parts on different days. I then do about 20-30 minutes of cardio at the end.

how do you expect to make abs when you don't do any ab exercises...

Hey Maxtro, what do you need the 6-pack for anyway? I understand the fun of getting stronger and a higher endurance, but the 6-pack craze seems a bit over the top. There is no need to get body fat that low unless youre a top athlete.

Ab exercises are very important. Get on a strength training routine (Rippetoes or Stronglifts), and do extra ab work (vary the exercises). The more muscle you gain, the more calories will burn.

Look at Strongmen. Some are at 15% bodyfat and they still have a 6 pack, because they are so strong.

I don't need a 6-pack but I will still like one. I like the way they look and I think it would look good on me :D Looking in the mirror and seeing that I look good will definitely give a boost to my self confidence. Plus I'm tired of having a belly.

Also I'm going to be moving to SoCal in a couple of months and I'm probably going to go to the beach quite often. I don't want to be the guy with the gut.

I've done a bit of research and I realized that I basically need to completely change my diet.

I thought that eating less was good enough. Turns out it's not.

What do you guys think of uneven abs?

As in they are not symmetrical on both sides and vary in size in the different sections.

Just because a woman listens to you and acts interested in what you say doesn't mean she really is. She might just be acting polite, while silently wishing that the date would hurry up and end, or that you would go away... and never come back.

it's almost always genetic. but knock yourself out trying to 'fix' it.

"abs are made in the kitchen" is a lovely aphorism, and obviously wrong.

abs are made with ab exercises. abs are REVEALED with proper attention to diet. the distinction is not academic, you need to be doing both.

Don't pick hairs Throttle ;) For anyone with a decent gym routine who's been going at it for awhile and still can't see his abs, it makes perfect sense.
