"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

She obviously doesn't have a BF, but chicks believe it's the best line they can use to get a guy not to try anything.

The way you approached it, telling her "she is interesting and you want to get to know her better" was a mistake. It puts a lot of pressure on her (like she has to perform, or live up to your expectations) - people don't like felling pressured, they like to be relaxed. Instead of playing off a "date" as a relaxed hang out, it came off as being more of an "interview".

As for the fact you've paid her compliments and made her know you like her over a period of time, that's just not going to help you out. As soon as a chick knows you like her, a timer starts ticking. If you dont make a move soon after, your chances fade away (she thinks you lack confidence to do so). And all the checking of her dating habits and situation, it's just a little bit AFC. Know what you want and go after it.

Giving her your number or teasing her about her "BF" will get you nowhere. Just ask her on an action date, don't explain it to her, rationalise it to her, justify it her, just ask.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.
