I know because I was one of them. The overthinking. The paralysis. The silent drive home kicking yourself for freezing up. Watching average guys walk away with the girl while you stood there stuck in your own head.

The strain is just too much on my bad hip. Squats are out too. It's not going to get any better until after my next surgery in Nov, when I'm getting a total hip replacement. Even then, the doc said not to do anything that causes pain now as it will just speed up the wearing out of the prosthetic and hasten another replacement.

I know enough about training that I can work those muscle groups independently, but other than benchpress, what else can I do to get testosterone levels up?

You are a strong man soldier. Props!

Doing deadlifts with shrapnel in your hips is a bad move. Wait for the hip replacement.

I don't like isolation exercises like leg extensions and leg curls. They put a lot of shearing force on the knee.

I stick with compound exercises for the legs.

Can you move the surgery ahead of schedule? My clients that had the surgery experienced much greater mobility and freedom from pain.
