I have revolted against facebook. It has grown to be a burden, a security risk, a nuisance and a general annoyance.
I didn't use it often to begin with. I had about 400 friends, but I got tired of replying to people on their walls. I liked it at first to satisfy my inner attention-*****, but I grew out of that phase. I see it for what it is: a way of showing off who you are to other people.
The reason I decided to remove my account is because I don't feel like exposing myself to the whole world and letting them know who I am, what I do, who I see and who I'm related to. I am tired of the fake people who never talk to you, yet wish you "happy birthday" when they see the sign on their homepage. As with most things, I enjoy simple and non-threatening. Facebook has grown to a level where I don't feel like the information that I put on is safe anymore.
Has anyone else felt the same, and if so, how many of you have revoked your accounts?
