"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

Guys, I'm not like some of the people here still getting over talking to girls and afraid of asking for the number. I've been very successful with girls this year/summer. Now let me explain that while I was at Hooters I had one of the girls working there give me a piece of paper with her number. One of my friends who works there said she thought I was really cute and wanted to hang out. I talked to her for a few and called her a few times. She never picked up so I never understood that. She even wanted me to go out with her that night to drink at her friends. But every time I called or left a message I never got a call back? WTF

Another one.. I was at some Volleyball Courts playing with a bunch of buddies. This really hot girl(solid 9) was checking me out while we were playing. So I went over and talked to them for a few. As her and her group we're leaving I was about to go ask for her number. But before I even got up her friend goes "Hey man.. Do you want this girls number?". I went over there and got it and she wanted me to call her sometime. I called her that night and she didn't pick up. A day later I texted and she said she wanted to hang out sometime and to call her. I tried calling her like two days later and she never picked up. She called me back but I didn't hear it so I tried again. Didn't pick up. I tried calling her tonight and she didn't pick up. It's still early in the night so maybe she will but this is confusing.

Should I just text her and let her know I want to hang out with her tonight? I'm not worried about sounding weird because I got a few others I can call/ already have plans with. But I would like to see this one go somewhere.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Yeah it's cool. Every things fine, We'll probably hang out when she gets back in town.. How many opportunities do you have with a Abercrombie Model? The way I look at it.. As many opportunities as I want.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
