"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Ok, I know you guys here this all the time, but I must explain my circumstance because you usually make me feel better about myself, pick myself up, and start over again. Well, her is this thing. I really got this thing for this chick, lives about 2 hours away. No problem, she makes lots of visits down. Well, originally she was supposed to be going out with this dude from Wisconsin. Last I spoke to her, she still way. Well, guess she made a surprise visit this weekend and I saw her holding hands with this dude, think an ex she always gets together with when she comes down. Well, I think it was her, can't be sure. I was really busy because it was a festival and I have to run a booth. And they were like 15 feet away when she saw me and yelled hi. I only had time to say hi and they were gone around the bend. Now what do I do. We seem to be pretty good friends and talk alot on Yahoo. Should I just like explain to her that I like her and ask her out? Be more sneaky then that about it and say something fancy and if so, like what? Or is there a better way? Please help before I go insane and end up in some mental home.

Thanks, Kegger

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

That was actually good advice. You're thinking too much about her. You're placing her on a pedestal. YOU TALK TO HER ALL THE TIME ON YAHOO! Get out, do something else, keep yourself busy. Hang out with her every now and then. Diversify yourself. Avoid oneitis. Push/Pull. DO SOMETHING.

my friend my friend. she seems like a great chick and all but a hard but very powerful rule with women that you msut learn is ALWAYS BE WILLING to leave. and judging by the circumstances (shes holding HIS hand and not YOURS) it seems shes already made her pick and your sitting there sobbing. get over her man...emotions are for girls, find some next chicks man fo real.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

Thanks, you helped some. It just bugs me when I can't figure out the answers to some things, thats why I came to you guys. Because generally I am the one that everyone comes to when they need help with things, and when I can't figure something out it bugs me to no end. I am even good at giving friends advice with there love life. I try to look at myself as a third person, if this makes sense, and answer my own questions as if I were answering someone elses. Does that make sense and do you guys ever try that?
