"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm starting to date this girl I like so much. Yesterday was the weirdest date I've ever had. It was so awkward...I feel something's wrong.

Anyways, I don't want you guys to analyze my situation because that's useless, but F U C K!!!! I can't believe I'm giving this one girl so much importance, I'm pissed at myself!!

I'm trying to see what did I do wrong or how can I improve but I can't see how!!

This is gay...I never thought I would make a thread like this one....

The problem is not the situation itself, the problem is ME giving this girl so much importance...

I MUST do something to prevent this explosive one-itis coming my way. She is totally in control of my emotions, if the date goes welll, I'm happy, if the date goes bad, I'm sad. It's so ****ing gay!

Any king of advice would be appreciated, thanks.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Some advice...

Man, take it easy.... You are 20 years old, and maybe you just started to like this girl? It normal to like someone, and the emotions/effects of liking someone are just like what u said u have... So you like this chick, BIG DEAL! You can do one of 2 things.... Either keep seeing her and see where things go, maybe a relationship? Or you can cut off contact with this girl (If you think that u wont be able to "control" yourself eith your emotions/feelings for this girl) and see other women asap... The decision is yours.;)

Yeah.

I know it's normal to like somebody. We kissed yesterday for the first time but it was so weird I can't even explain it. I woke up today feeling so DOWN. That's why I made the post.

Thanks for the advice.
