I broke up with him over text

Out of anger when someone(4th person actually) told me that I'm his side girl and he's still with his so-called ex. They have a child together.

I told the reason over text and I was actually asking if it's true...but he can't be contacted over phone.
Text is our main channel of communication. I wanted to call him but he always ignore my calls....

I texted him asking about the truth...
Is it right for me to even expect an explanation? He's a shady person in general...even his relatives no little about him

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I am afraid you are on the wrong forum. This is a site for men to discuss their interactions with women. If you're looking for "emotional support" after breaking up with your ex, there's a million other sites that are more suited for that purpose.

Nope, I'm looking for an opinion from a guys perspective if this ever happen.

Like what would you do given the circumstance?
Would you go NC?
For how long?
Would you answer the questions thrown at?
Would you give closure?
Would you just move on?

For me I really don't care if a woman breaks things off with me over text. I usually just respond with "OK" and leave it at that. But you can't control what other people do only what you do and how you respond to their actions. Personally I would never break up over text or voice mail because it doesn't really feel like a breakup.

Ask yourself if you would mind if this happened to you and you will have your answer.

How is he going to respond? I don't know because I don't know him. If he's swallowed the Red Pill you won't hear from him again unless you reach out to him first. If he hasn't he'll contact you again.

So in your case, you would still reply?

What's the red pill? I don't get it...

We're in a LDR that's why if I can't call him, I resort to text messaging.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

"Red Pill" - it's a Matrix reference: in the movie, Neo is given the choice of one of two pills to take. The "Red Pill" is the one that causes him to see reality as it really is and not the way he's seen it this whole time. In reference to dating: a guy that's able to see how the dating game REALLY works and learns how to use that knowledge to his advantage has, in effect, taken the "red pill."

SOOOO... if he's taken the "red pill," he knows the best course of action is to NOT respond to you, which will, in turn, cause YOU to do all the work of getting him back. As for the whole "break up via text" thing: for one, it doesn't matter how you did the break up, it was always going to suck. And two, I've gotten broken up with a girl via text before, and my response was the same: "Ok." Like, in my view if you want to leave, it means I'm not making you happy in some way and everyone has the right to be with someone who makes them happy. With that said, I know a lot of girls use the whole "break up" tactic as a means of getting the guy to realize what he's losing and come back to her begging for another chance. I imagine this is what was going through your head when you did this (or maybe not) and that would have worked... on another GIRL. However, guys are more direct and you would have been better off saying you wanted to talk about an issue that was bothering you vs. going into full on "break up" mode.

How do you know the 4th person is telling you the truth? Anyway, this is a totally inappropriate forums for you to pose such questions. This is largely a support group for IT guys who have problems getting involved with women.

Look at your situation in a positive light: at least you have no problems meeting the opposite sex. If you and this guy do separate, another guy is around the corner.

OP, tell your ex to make an account on this site and let us help him get over you really quick. We will have him laid within the week and within two weeks he won't even remember a thing about you. Being the kind man that he is, you would want that for him, wouldn't you?

Here is an advice I will give my sister.
Never get involved when you know or feel like he stays in contact with his ex girl or wife.Plus they have a child together ...never a good sign.

Just find a new man or learn to focus and love your self ...the next guy will come along.

If you are young , learn from this and learn to love yourself.

Based on what you have shared, it is obvious this guy is not interested and his actions speak very clearly. Do yourself a favour and lose his number, he's not expecting any explanation from you. Find a gentleman who is single and available without all that baby mama drama instead of a texting buddy who sounds like a loser.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
