Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

i was at dennys on sunday. i KNOW THIS WAS STUPID, but there was a lady sitting behind me having cheesecake, and she left and i looked and there was alot of cheesecake left over. so i took it and ate it, using my own fork not hers.

since then i noticed a small bump on the inside of my left cheek(in my mouth, that is), its got seemingly nothing to do with anything on the outside of my cheek. and its right where my teeth meet, as if maybe i bit right there in my sleep or something. but its like a pimple, only i cant see it in the mirror when i open my mouth, its the same color as everything else, the only thing i can see is that theres a little bump there.

furthermore, i cant really think of anything else that mightve caused this. except perhaps playing trumpet alot, which ive been doing.

should i be worried or not? im pretty sure it takes way longer than this for something like that to develop, not to mention it seems EXTREMELY unlikely that i couldve picked up anything from her saliva being on her fork, to her cheesecake, to my fork, to my mouth, if thats even what caused it. im PRETTY SURE that this whole thing is my imagination, and the bump is totally irrelevant, but i want to be sure.

anyway, am i safe? am i clean? anything?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Might as well go see a doctor and get that thing looked at. You can never be too safe with these types of things.

You have what is called herpes simplex. It's more commonly known as a "cold sore". There's tons of information available online about it.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&q=cold+sore+herpes

Now seriously, how hard up are you that you had to eat leftover food off of another persons plate after they left the table? I'd be worried more about the reasoning behind that decision than anything else - the next step is to dig around in garbage cans outside of McDonalds, which could cause you to get tetanus.

Well you've technically kissed her already, so you may aswell track her down and screw her, to get the rest of her diseases. Who knows...... One of them might even be the cure to this problem. :p

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

sure i do:cheer:

however i dont think he caught herpes in this manner. its harder to catch than eating after someone. perhaps he already caught it from kissing someone and just never broke out until now and didnt know it before.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.
