Hi,

I was just about to purchase three items I really wanted online, but noticed the URL was http, not https.

https is secure right, that's what I was told.

Anybody know much about this as I would really like to purchase the items, but why has the site not got https.

Just don't transfer your credit card number or any important passwords there. What site is it?
Maybe you can pay by invoice, or through Paypal (they will redirect you to their site, which is secure).

it all depends on who the virtual terminal is


all https means is that the transcation is going to take place on THEIR website. in other words, they have a virtual terminal that they intergrate into their site, the v irtual termainal talks to the bqnk and spits back a yes or no all from that website. in this instane, yes you need https


but quite a few sites use paypal and unless you have paypal pro, which most people don
t, when you go to paypal you are taken to paypal to complete the transcation and in that caae, since there is no actual cc information being transffered on the orignial site, the https is really a waste of money
