I'm not guru or anything, and there's nothing wrong with that approach other than the fact that it's the same god damn approach that every other dude uses. Openers don't have to be fancy but they should be different and engage the girl in conversation.

If you are extremly good looking, then this aproach will work fine, simply because you would have to say something complety stupid for it not to work fi you look real good.

If you look average, even above average, if the girl is not desprate then it may not work well. If she gives you the time of day then maybe oyu can make up for it latter, but the problem is when you start like this, you show that you are talking to the girl for the sake of talking to her. You want to show that there is some other reason, for example you want an oppinion on somthing or to aks a question, and you just happen to be chatty so you cary on talking.
