"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

First post, love the site has been great inspiration.

A little background - I'm 36, reasonably attractive (8.5 on hotornot, for what it's worth) and have been out of an LTR for a couple of years. I meet a lot of people mainly through clubs/bars though quality and longevity can be variable. I get bored quick :D. I'm much better at taking advantage of natural openings, so am working on the cold approaches somewhat.

Last night I was at a local club, some good eye contact with a very attractive 20something. Later, I'm standing near the dance floor with my back to her and her friend, smoking. I feel a tap on my back, it's her asking for a light.

Me: That's the oldest trick in the book, you think I'm gonna fall for that?
Her: Smile, expectant look.
Me: What's your name?
Her: Sarah
Me: How's your evening?
Her: I'm wankered and going to bed (for the non UK folk, she means she's drunk as hell)
Me: Riiiightttt....

She stumped me, so I ended the interaction and 2 minutes later she and her friend were gone.

Guess I could have played on the innuedno, or just gone straight for the number and wished her good night?

Any pointers as to how I could have handled this better would be great! Thanks!

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Yeah you have to be careful in the UK nowadays....

Drunk = Rape if shes not happy in the morning. Fvcking stupid law. What happened to the days where waking up next to someone you wouldnt have slept with the night before was just a bad memeory.

I like your start.

"Thats the oldest trick in the book" but you needed to extened.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

But you have to be carefull when it comes to fvcking drunks cuz it could make you a rapist. But if you leave her AFTER you've fvcked she'll never remember you.

"What's your name?"

I never frankly ask for her name. Make her wanna tell you HER name or ask for yours first. You're not the one to send IOI.

You also didn't make her talk. You asked quick "yes/no"-questions. You should have said something like: "See, my friend is in love with this chick but he's too afraid to tell her. What should he do?"

But hey. That's not the issue anyway.

Like it, yep that's a good way to open negotiations! I've had a lot of fun before with "just how much that cigarette's gonna cost you" and it's the same deal really...

Gah, you're right, i'd not thought about it as an IOI before though it clearly is. I'll go for opinion stuff next time.

On the drunk/fk thing, I normally steer clear of obviosuly drunk women, it usually ends up as a headache one way or another; this one was very cute tho and made the first real move. I felt I could have better engaged and at least got the number for a more sober encounter :D.

Thanks for the feedback!
