I really wouldn't know how to go about this. I suppose if you want your waist to look slim, you should work on your shoulders.

Poonstra's right, If your arms and shoulders get bigger, your waist will appear slimmer relative to the rest of you.

I prefer the slow and steady route of cutting 500 calories a day and doing cardio and muscle training. Lifting weights regularly would help your look even if your fat stayed relatively the same.

^This is spot on. That what I'm doing in the last 8 weeks. I took photos of myself bf and now, and you won't believe the difference. (actually, I'm on my way out to a spinning class, lol )
