I had a colleague from Brazil - and in commercials you could not directly mention or attack other companies or their products.AAAgent said:those japanese sure are creative. They make great cartoons, porn, technology, comedy shows, clothes, and anything else i can think of.
I learned in one of my law classes that in japan, business competition are not allowed to say they are better than any other competition. From this stems creativity since they have to find other unique ways to oust their competition.
In the U.S. you see commercials say things like "Coke has less sugar and calories then pepsi and is preferred by most athletes." This apparently would not be allowed in japan. Instead they'll probably say something like "Coke, does a body good." Then you see the parents replace the milk with coke and then do something ridiculously stupid/funny/creative.
True. I have a friend who just returned from China after 3 years of teaching English, and he told me how much of an outcast they treated him as. He seemed sooo much sharper. He had to get creative to deal with the cutthroatness of the Chinese people. He also said that anything you Buy in the marketplaces there falls apart within a week. When you see "Made in China" on something Probably at a Wal-Mart etc. it's not made by the Chinese, per se, it's made by American companies, equipment, etc, ON Chinese soil.Trader said:Try doing business in China VS US.
