"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I had a fb that i caught feelings for a year ago. She hooked up with someone else right before finals and inevitably it affected my grades. I was heart broken. A semester later I improved my grades and hit the gym, while my former fb was hooking up with the whole campus. About 2 months ago I ran into her in a club and called her a slut in front of her friends (i know pretty immature). She sent me an email saying I was unintelligent and pathetic. I cut out all ties from her, but my friends always need to butt in. Today my friend posted on my facebook wall, " xxx you need to visit yyy (my ex) room there is a list of corny jokes on popsicle sticks lining the fridge - you'd be in heaven". How should I respond? I so badly want to say "congrats, u just made me puke in my mouth a little bit." Would this be wise??? I am sooo tempted!

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Why are you calling her your ex? You guys were never exclusive, and had the freedom to hook up with other people. Seems like you aren't over her. Just ignore his comment. Stop being so reactive.

I agree with this.

If you really have to reply (which you don't), just say something like "Okay."

Dude, it's just a girl. She's going out and getting STDs and you're living life.

Congrats for you.

Fvck her, be happy without her. To you, she is now just another girl... as if you never even met her. What would you say if your friend said "Oh, my friend, Melony, has a ton of cheesy jokes on her fridge!" and you had never met Melony?

I don't know about you, but I would simply reply in a friendly manner and move on.

"Oh, that is nice."

Understand?

Namaste.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

why were you heartbroken over a fb? you sound really immature. when in doubt, just play it cool. just respond positively by saying something like "haha awesome!". Remember, the best revenge is living well. Don't let people affect your emotional state. Also, i dont get the popsicle joke at all.
