There's this girl at my job that I think is cute and I wouldn't mind dating/ being close to her. I know you shouldn't date your coworkers but I'll take the chance. Not to mention, school starts soon so I won't even be there for a long while. Anyway last night, when we clocked out, I tried talking to her so I could see if she had a boyfriend and see if she wants to hang out sometime. but customers came in at the last second and our boss told her to take them. My ride was rushing me so I had to leave. I checked the schedule for next week and we don't work together at all. I don't wanna wait a week+ to talk to her like I wanted to. What if we don't get scheduled together the week after that?

ANYWAYS, the app where our schedules are posted also has everyone's number (just in case we need to text or email someone asking for shift coverage etc.) so it's normal for us to get each other's numbers and text out the random asking for a favor and what not. So at this point, I'm just going to text her and ask my questions. Yeah, it might be cowardly, but I literally have no other option.
We're cool with each other and she's really friendly so I'm sure it won't be weird or anything...I hope. She'll clearly know that I got her number from the app but like I said, it's normal for us to do that.
----
But what do I say? I told my friend that I was going to text her and ask if she has a boyfriend, and my friend told me that "I'm really bad at this". Like what else is there to say? I was just going to ask that then if she says no, I was going to say that we should make a move/ hang out sometime and then the conversation will go from there.
Can someone help? Sorry for the long post. Thank you!

**TL;DR: I like this girl and want to ask if she's dating anyone and wants to hang out sometime. I won't see her in person for who knows how long, so I've decided to text her and ask her those questions. My friend suggested that that's not the way I should go about texting her. What should I say then?**
