"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Girls know right away if they want you or not, at least on that gut, primal level. You don't have to work your ass off at anything. That's just totally backwards.
if your asking about initial attraction, it was there. i just kind of view dealing with women like an episode of Blind Date, where everything you do is scrutinized and their opinion of you could change at any moment.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Why are you trying to "impress" women?
A couple people asked that already. I know your goal is for them to impress you, but when your trying to get somewhere with a woman on a date, you can't just sit there and twiddle your thumbs. They have to be attracted to you too. I'm just wondering what their mentality would be, how many dates they would go before they might lose interest (since it can go both ways)

Ok, some people are confused. You don't have to impress a woman but you definitely have to attract her. You have to raise and keep her interest high. A girl won't even waste her time trying to impress you if she has no interest in you.

If you do nothing to maintain or build up her interest in you it can fall very fast.

Okay, point taken. "Impress" is the wrong word... I mean, how many oppurtunities do you have to attract a girl before (worst case scenario) they might pass on you? In other words, how many dates? Because I feel like the first date or two can be nerve-racking and affect how you come across...

So ideally... a two to three date window of oppurtunity (for both parties) would be optimal. Is that realistic or is it usually a one shot deal?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I'd say it depends on the girl's initial attraction to you.

If you are the hottest/most fascinating guy she's ever been with, all you have to do is not screw things up by doing something stupid.

But if the girl is "on the fence" in her attraction to you, you have to immediately work on building attraction with her, and in this case it's more of a one-shot deal.

A woman can tell within the first minute of SEEING you if she'd want to have sex with you. This is attraction. Once this decision is made, it is basically set in stone - changing it requires more effort than its worth.

Knowing this, you really don't need to impress a girl. All you need to do is not turn her off. If within that first minute she was not repulsed by you, then you basically have a shot unless you do something stupid.

Solid advice. Like I said, I was undermining the value of initial attraction (which was there... she agreed to get dinner, complimented my beard right off the bat and had great eye contact, among other IOIs).

I just kind of feel "under the microscope" on a date, and that I have to do everything perfectly or I am toast. While I know now not to twiddle my thumbs and be a bore, it's good to know I can relax a little. Thanks for the advice.

Advice taken! But, here's the thing... it wasn't like a blind date or anything.. I knew the girl pretty well... she finally broke things off with her boyfriend... and I took her out to dinner... so I kind of viewed it as my big chance...

and while things went pretty well and I'm sure she had a fun time (she contacted me first a few hours later, thanking me and saying she had a good time)... i doubt the "wow" factor was there (due to my nervousness, missing the ex, etc.)...

which is pretty much the basis of what i'm wondering here... are girls quick to give out second (or third) chances for you to steal their heart?
I feel for you, man. Same story here.

I went out with this girl that I had a real high level of natural chemistry with. And the first date went great. The second date started out where the first one left off. But as the night went on, I could feel my mentality shifting. I started worrying about losing her interest and stopped focusing on just having a good time which was what she liked about me in the first place.

Bottom line, women are psychic. She sensed the shift. The night ended on a low note, and I've basically been nexted.

In my experience, 3 dates is the absolute most time you get to close the deal. Generally, you want to push your boundaries as much as you can, though. The sooner you wow her and subsequently close her, the better impression you'll leave. If you balk and hesitate like a little bïtch like I did, you'll be finding new things to occupy your lonely nights with.

Hey, solid feedback there. You tell it like is, which is appreciaited. I figured the max is three dates, and a couple people have seemed to have confirmed that.

I feel like my date got off to a great start and tapered off a little. She contacted me a few hours later thanking me and saying she had a good time, so I could just be a little paranoid, I'm not sure. I think I'll probably be able to score a second date (got a wait a few months until break anyway), but I'd be lying if I said I wasn't concerned a little.

Someone else here said that time works to your advantage which I think is also true. In other words, if you didn't wow her intially, you can lay low for a little while and try to rekindle things with another date a little bit down the road. I'm hoping that works too.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Oh yea... physical attraction was definately there, I just didn't really use all of those little DJ tips and tricks (mostly due to nervousness)

I belive that women put men into two groups regarding sex. Possible and Impossible. If she puts you in the possible group then it is possible for you to have sex with her. If she puts you in the impossible group then it is impossible for you to have sex with her. The problem is that you can move from the possible group down into impossible and once you are there your pretty much stuck.

What makes it more difficult is that there are different levels in her possible group. You can start out at like 70% in the possible category and you have to somehow get up to 100% to have sex with her.

A similar but different question is how many meetings with a girl can you have before she will loose her attraction with you do even go on a date with you? Or is more based on how many hours you spend together.

Another idea is does the category a girl placed you in reset over time. For example if she labeled you as impossible would you still have that label if you've had no contact with her for a couple of years and ran into her?

These are all things I am trying to figure out.

That's a pretty solid theory. I'm sure there's alot truth to it. I also wonder how much sex is just spontaenous.

Yea, that's basically the idea behind this post. How many strikes do you get if you really aren't "winning her over"?

I'm trying to figure all this out too! I think if you were EVER in the possible category, then you can return there given the right amount of time. It might take three months, it might take three years. But I think re-joining that group is possible if you were there in the first place. I mean, there is that old expression "rekindling the flame".

I don't know, man. My girl texted me on the way home from our last date saying, "Sweet dreams. Thank you for the fun evening. :)" and then blew me off two days later.

Hopefully, your situation goes better than that.

I've noticed the time thing, too. Just in the last year, girls that used to treat me like a harmless AFC puppy have begun responding to me differently. Not saying any of them are interested, but I'm not getting the, "You're sweet, but I'd never fück you," vibe from them anymore.

Good ish. Vibe changes are what's up.

Ah, thanks for the words of caution. Maybe two days was a little too soon? Did you ask her out again or just contact her? Because on this site I've read you should wait atleast a week to ask her out again.

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
