"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Can't completely agree with this one.

First, the whole "lose value" concept is ridiculous as it applies to dating. Stocks can lose value. Your house can lose value in a turbulent market. That new car you just bought loses value when you drive it off the lot....

But how can a man "lose value" by simply approaching a female stranger? Outside of groveling to a woman or making a complete fool of himself in some obvious way, I don't see how a man can "lose" his value as a human being, simply by approaching a woman...

Secondly, while showing your cards too early CAN kill attraction, that is far from a given. Women love confidence in a man, as I'm sure you know. A man can show interest in a woman (directly) in a nonchalant way, while not displaying neediness, and still be attractive in that woman's eyes. It all comes down to whether that particular woman finds that particular man attractive (through personality, game, looks, etc.)....

It's true that when a random guy approaches a woman, the woman usually knows the guy is interested. But men are expected to approach women in our culture, just like women are expected to uphold a certain level of beauty (hence makeup, high heels, jewelry, etc.) in order to ATTRACT a certain type of man....

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
