How do you avoid unhealthy food?

By reading every single food label of every item I look at in every grocery store I visit. I started when I was around 20 and would research any ingredient I did not know, and I still do it to this day.

There are only a handful of ingredients that I consider acceptable in almost anything I buy. As a good rule of thumb, if something has more than 5-6 ingredients, it's probably poison, especially if it's something simple like bread.

I've found fresh pizzas that have less than 10 ingredients. Meanwhile a hot pocket will have a long paragraph of ingredients. Pretty easy to infer which one is healthier.

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I mostly try to eat real, whole foods, but my meal planning and grocery shopping could be better. Sometimes I buy junkfood or fastfood, but I will at least try to detox afterwards. The effect of feeling healthy is motivating, and the next time I eat poorly I can always feel the consequences.

I basically eat a paleo diet (meat, fruit, some veggies) with dairy. Protein powder, supplements etc.

I don't typically eat much breads or nuts, legumes, frozen or processed foods.
