How do people settle?

I am curious how do people date someone they are meh about and end up sticking with it? Some of them even seem genuinely happy.

My girlfriend would be so much easier if I could do that. I am looking for some pointers, especially from women.

People settle because "being with someone" (anyone) is more important to them than their dignity. Simple as that. Its all about priorities and everyone's are different.

I'll lower my standards temporarily to satisfy a sexual urge.. but I would never commit to someone low quality just to "not be alone". Such behavior makes you a faggot.

I'd rather be alone than in bad company. But that's just me.
