how do i get rid of this gut??

In the last year I lost 40-50 pounds and now I'm at a really low weight for a 23 yr old male at 5'8". Currently, I weigh only 130 but I still have the spare tire around my abdomen. I lost most of the other weight by regulating my diet and alternating between weight machines and running. Do any of you guys have some advice on what I should do in order to gain a good 10 pounds or so of muscle and lose the tummy flab?

I have this problem too, except I weight a lot more. I'm 200lbs of mostly muscle, but I have a belly, which is extremely ugly and ruins my looks. I can suck it in and look mostly normal, but it's about the only extra fat on my body and just looks aweful!


..About gaining muscle and losing fat all at once, you can do it, but you'd be better off doing one or the other.

Fellas, I've lost all kinds of unsightly fat around my belly by lifting weights. I do very little cardio, but lift weights like a madman. In the gym, I don't stop moving until I pick up my coat and walk out the door. Remember, the more muscle you can pack on, the more calories you'll burn when you aren't active. Squats can increase testostorone production which will help you pack on the muscle. If you really want to shred the fat though, do intervals. They seem like Cardio but are actually anaerobic if done correctly.

Intervals: Find an ovular track. Jog a warm - up lap (I know, cardio) then once you round the second curve, sprint down the straightaway as though running for your life. You shouldn't even have time to breathe. jog/walk around the next curve, then run like hell again down the next straight side.

Those intervals will kick your a$$ but will get you in shape.

I have a track about 5 minutes away, but it's covered by a foot + of snow. Any ideas for winter training?

Build muscle in your abs. I.E. pick up a heavy object, like a heavy dumbbell or medicine ball, cradle it like a baby, and either squat it 20 times or walk around with it. I do this with a 100 pound medicine ball, and it fries my abs.
