Just to preface this, I am sixteen years old and am going to be a Junior in High School. I have had only one girlfriend and have yet to engage in any sexual activity. Because of strict parents and my young age, I haven't planned on stepping up "my game" until college. Like many other guys, I had dreams of banging hot chick after hot chick. But my view has now changed.
Unfortunately, in today's world, STDs are much more common now than in the past, and I have read some pretty scary statistics. The most common STD seems to be genital warts, or HPV. I've read that between 80-90% of college females have this disease! :nervous: That is huge! Now I don't know if should pursue a sexually active lifestyle. Being a DJ today is much more dangerous than it was many years ago.
So, how careful are you? Do you attempt any kind of background search on your targets? I've read that if someone has had more than 10 sex partners, then there is an extremely high possibility that they have herpes or HPV. I certainly don't want these diseases, and though they aren't life-threatening they would be a pain in the ass. I also don't want my life to ruined by contracting HIV either. But how can a DJ lifestyle be achieved while also being STD-free? Condoms don't protect against HPV or herpes and aren't 100% effective against other STDs. I know you can have tests to determine who is free of disease, but these are expensive and would almost certainly ruin the mood while significantly lowering the chance of getting laid.
