How can American Idol have any credibility?

The show is a joke, how people become successful after they win the contest is beyond me.

I don't understand how some of the worst singers ever even get past the trial judges and onto the show. If you are trying show the world how good of a singer someone is, don't let the trash into the same group as them. Simon Cowell is fake as hell to.

Because no matter what anyone says about the show, good or bad publicity is publicity. It's an easy way for anyone to get their 15 minutes.

The bad singers make for good, funny entertainment. There are 3 sets of auditions for the show. The first one is in a huge stadium where they pick the best and the worst to send to the next round. Those people go back the next day and audition for the producers. A few more get picked out of those people and they send the best and the worst on to audition for Randy, Paula and Simon. The best get sent to Hollywood for the next round and the worst get shown because they are funny. That's about it...

Well the singers that won the competition continue to become rich and successful so you gotta give the judges some credit. Kelly Clarkson would have never became famous without the show.

As a former musician, I detest American Idol. Bad music of any kind is not funny.

While I admit AI's final product is pretty good (Fantasia, Ruben, Clay, Kelly, Kimerbly Locke, etc.), they are also responsible for the William Hungs of the world.

The human voice is the most powerful and sacred of all musical instruments. And Americal Idol makes a complete farse of the art form.

At least Star Search had more respect for the art form and did not expliot its rejects for a cheap ratings boost. Plus, the winners were decided by qualified judges ONLY, and not by some fickle, biased, general public who have no idea of how much hard work goes into being a good singer and performer.

Kelly clarckson was the fist and only real idol , rest are just some copycat wannabes who wont get anywhere....

The show is stupid , but its entertaining ....

The idea of the majority population of usa are the ones choosing the winner is bulls****...

The tv show itself choses the finalists , they give portrays on them and learn about theyr background , while the ones who wont go on to be the finalist will prolly have theyr face on the tellie for like only 10 sec.....

They should have stopped after the first idol show , cuz now theyr only butchering the hole thing....
