As you know, this is highly sexualized dance, spawned from the brothels of Buenos Aires, Argentina long ago.

I've recently taken Tango dance lessons from 3 seperate instructors. My latest instructor is Very giving of her time and the class is dirt cheap compared to the others. It was quite a treat to learn Tango from her, and I learn A LOT on how to lead a woman, as Tango is heavily reliant on the Man leading the entire dance. The woman totally follows in this dance. It's a Very masculine dance. I highly recommend learning it.

I was in Buenos Aires a few months ago and considered taking a tango lesson but didn't. Kinda regret it. My dance skills suck.

Exactly. I think that's the reason I didn't bother to learn it. Where are you going to use it outside of Argentina and Uruguay? Not like they have tango clubs here in L.A. Though it might be a cool thing in your arsenal to have. Get a girl back in your apartment after a fun night, put on a tango song and show her some moves. She'd probably then think you're this exotic, fun, worldly guy to know something like that and be quite impressed. Hell, I guess I should've learned tango then, dammit...

I think it's a pretty cool skill to have. It's also an instant interest boost for women. I might try taking lessons someday though I like working out more.
