My great-grandparents were subject to signs in government and other public buildings that read "No Dogs or Indians Allowed". While their parents were shot down like animals with hotchkiss guns at Wounded Knee.

I don't share your americana. I wish I could entertain the concept of the "good old days", aka "the days when we had the darkies in their place" (pressed firmly beneath boot heels).

Well I agree that America back in the day had issues, for example my great grand parents were in a war of independence from America. That's right, the Imperial United States of America was trying to control my country of origin in which caused over 1 Million Civilians killed and thousands wounded.

It's not a war that is often mentioned but it was the Philippine-American War.

Now I have to say that the general population of Americans were generally good upstanding people, but incidents like this blame has to go on the government and its leaders.

I don't share "americana" and truly wish that people would open their eyes to the fact there were no "Good old days."
- Native Americans were killed off on genocidal levels.
- American Imperialism
- America only has 5% of the worlds population, but 25% of the worlds prison population
- No universal health care
- The idea that all taxes are bad
- Too many people talking about government at stupid levels (AKA Yahoo Answers)
- and the list goes on and on...

I want to get out of the US eventually.

I understand being conservative and not wanting to show off too much skin, but wearing a nice dress in the ocean is just stupid.

I wouldn't be surprised if skinny dipping was very common for the locals. Go the beach off peak time and take off that Victorian dress so you don't ruin it.
