I tried looking for a local gym but things didnt work out too well.... so I'm going to just buy an elliptical trainer for the house. I checked ebay, and this is what I found:

and

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3618934306&category=15275

I'm tryin to keep it pretty cheap (around $200-$250).

would these be alright?

Also, is there a good strength training machine for around that same price? I.E.

ANY and ALL help is greatly appreciated.

IMO home gyms are **** compared to free weights

it just feels different i guess idk

but dont fall for a lot of the gimmiks played on things like bowflex. becoming one of those ripped guys on tv takes longer than "JUST 6 WEEKS!"

i say for best results find a gym, make friends, mac it with the fit chicks there

so could this olympic barbell set do the same stuff if not more than the home gym above? Is there anywhere that I can find a list/printout of exercises for those? I have one of those barbell sets but its pretty hokey and its only 150 lb. and the clips are missing.

edit: Oh I know that soy :> But going to a gym is really not going to work at this point in the game :-\

I think ellipticals suck - but that's just me - I equate them with women! - not only that they are way too easy.

anyway, I think the best cardio machine BAR NONE is the Concept II Rowing Ergometer - the BEST cardio workout... not only that but the machine is virtually indestructible, needs almost zero maintenance, and has awesome resale value.... and if that wasn't all, you can fold it up so it doesn't take a ton of room.

Granted, you will have to be taught how to row properly - (it takes all of 15 minutes) but it is a serious calorie burn and will definitely build muscle (particularly your thighs and bis)

perhaps I'm a bit biased, but then again I used to be a rower.

Try one of those used sports equipment resale places. You can get a weight set, bench, etc dirt cheap by buying the ones that are rusty. For some reason, the resale shops can't unload a bar with a little rust on it. Just wrap duct tape around the grips and you are good to go.

I've now got a decent barbell set. thanks for that. No expensive home gym for me!

But now the cardio aspect.

Elliptical looks to be the best, since I cant go for a swim early in the morning, and the treadmill just sucks.

I also can't afford the rowing machine Diesel, sorry :-\

what about that GAZELLE thing, anyone heard good about that?

sorry, I can AAA almost everytning on DDRMAX except for like Max 300, so Deep, and Exotic Ethnic. :>

I'm one of the top 5 players in Texas in DDR, but I need somehting more solid. Plus I really dont like playing DDR @ home, I like the competition and social aspect of the arcade.

a Jump rope? I have one of those, I was thinking maybe the elliptical + jump rope mebbe?
