The type you are probably thinking of would be DLV hobbies. Those are the type of hobbies you would keep to yourself.

Most guys aren't into DHV hobbies because they are too adventerous, too expensive and a bit over-the-top to the average guy. Most likely, if you are into these things already then those are the type of things you would share. But, agreed, just to go skydiving just so you can talk to a girl about it is silly. Unless you want to meet an equally adventerous partner who is into those things herself, I'm not sure if it's helpful.

On the other hands, the DHV hobbies show that you have money, aren't stuck in the grind living paycheque to paycheque and are living a lifestyle as thought you have your crap together and are comfortable. It's more about the messaging about your overall SMV (ie LMS) that is expressed.

The DLV hobbies are more like NEET guys or people who are in the grind but are living paycheque to paycheque and barely getting by, and become a form of escapism. While you have to pay here and there, overall it's cheap, or even free, for those type of hobbies compared to the other one.

I Surf, I ride Motorbike, and I sing at a band.
This give me absolute JOY, girls or not. But it does works with the girls.

I also collect fvking Pokemon Cards, ever since I'm 11. I spend some money on that. Also makes me very happy.
I have a 1st edtion shining Gyarados god damn it. It is a fvking banger. It does not work the same magic on pvssy tho.

I've a friend who does a few "extreme" sports but his sole focus is on publicizing and photographing what he does to increase his public perception and build his image. He can't focus on anything, his personal life and habits are trash, he has no real hobbies but sometimes he does snowboarding, skiing, diving, motorcycling, painting (he did all of that once or twice) and takes like 50 photos each time just to impress people on his social media. Needless to say he doesn't enjoy these things like he should and he forces them on himself. If he reads a book, he has to post it on his IG page (he rarely ever finishes the book)

Point being find a hobby that you really love and don't give a damn about what impresses people. If you like knitting, then f*cking knit.
I'd rather call these things a passion, not hobbies.

From what I've experienced: being a traveler (but also having compelling stories to pair with your trips) is the most "attractive" hobby you can have for picking up women. This paired with something athletic/outdoors-oriented is likely the best combo for boosting DHV and makes you appear to be the most well-rounded.

More in-depth, cerebral hobbies seem to bore women -- as this doesn't connect with them on an emotional level.

Few hobbies will actually get you laid as a result of doing the hobby itself. Much of the more active hobbies that @Lotus Effect mentions are sausage fests. The geeky/nerdy DLV hobbies that @Lotus Effect mentions are more likely to get you disqualified than any of the action hobbies will help.

The one thing that the action hobbies can do for you is that they can help with your physique. Looks are the #1 factor in seduction.

I don’t think hobbies matter that much. My number one hobby is historical boardgaming. With a female participation of about 1%.
I’ve had girls mock it and other actually try & learn and play.
Ultimately. It was irrelevant as I banged them

@AmsterdamAssassin I don't go for jailbait! I'm only interested in women age 18 and over, which is legal in the United States, where I live.

True, but some work very well as aids to attract women. Like if you're in a band or whatnot. Or if it involves a large group - that can be good for showing your social skills, and even better if you are the leader of the group. I know a guy who would organize camping outings with a group of interested parties, it was clear he was the leader and took care of all the details.
