Here is a copy of an email I sent to a fellow who WAS on the Down Low last night. the factual stuff was taken from a research report on condoms and aids:

One U. S. Food and Drug Administration study tested condoms in the laboratory for leakage of HIV-size particles. Almost 33 percent leaked. That's one in three.

But HIV is only 0.1 micron in diameter. A 5-micron hole is 50 times larger than the HIV virus. A 1-micron hole is 10 times larger. The virus can easily fit through. It's kind of like running a football play with no defense on the field to stop you.

Look at it this way. If you decide to drive the wrong way down a divided highway, is it safer if you use a seat belt? You wouldn't call the process "safe." To call it "safer" completely misses the point. It's still a very risky--and a very foolish --thing to do.

Basically the research report I enbedded in my email to an aquaintace whom I'm helping go straight states that condoms do not even provide the kind of protection that we think.

The bottom note of the report was to have sex with safe and tested partners as the best solution. One we all need to think seriously about.

Quite large control groups. In Switzerland 1000 infected men and their partners were still going to have sex. It is common for the partners to still have sex. ANYWAY, the Doctors/researchers asked them to have oral sex only, both ways, for one year. After one year....NO NEW CASES. Going down on a chick is a lot safer and ther are NO REPORTED cases of HIV from that, at all.
