her period... what the fùck?!

10 days ago, my girlfriend told me that she felt like she was about to have her rags (she was on her 22th day). a week ago, i asked if she was on her period, but she told me that just very little blood had come out and that it meant that she was just ovulating. is it normal to ovulate 20+ days after the period?! now, she's 6 days later on her period, but i really believe that that blood was simply her period and she didn't recognize it. is it possible?

note: her period is always irregular... once i had to wait more than a week after the regular 28days...
