Help with convos

Ive read through alot of the stuff on this site about how to talk to girls and stuff, like how to let her do 70% of talking and you do 30% and how to keep your questions open-endend, etc, etc

But I'm still having trouble starting up convos with people. I dont have any interseting subject to talk about without being extermely obvious with "wassup?" or "hows life?".

I just need things I can talk about, things that I can strike up convos with ppl.

start with something basic like "whats up". i usualy tell a joke then or bring up something funny (like something that happened at school earlier or a funny story). from there other people start talking and i usualy wait untill they bring something up where i can make a joke or some sarcastic comment. just dont start with something big the moment you walk in or else you look desperate and come off WAY too strong. group convo is pretty easy, its one-on-one that you should be worring about

as long as you make it funny...
and it has to sound genuine, so the best thing is to really just say anything out of the top of your mind...it CAN'T sound as you've been thinking about saying it all day (which you might've done, which doesnt matter as long as you make it SOUND genuine...)

How to include a compliment in the small talk, if at all?

complimenting isn't really what you want to do....it's kind of AFC behavior...

If you compliment at all you can say something like:
"Nice dress...did you buy it new?" etc....something like that (if you say it the right way she'll kinda know that you still like it )
