They cover preexisting conditions now. ACA bans an insurance company from denying a person with PEC.

Are the dudes in Japan avoiding ladies, in general, like the plague? Doubtful that's an improvement to the American way of life.

You're nuts. Our taxes would go through the roof. The USA, unlike The Netherlands, is huge. Your country has 17,500,000 million citizens. The USA has 330,000,000 million citizens, maybe another 10 - 20 million undocumented people on top of that. It's why healthcare for all wouldn't work.

Insurance is to help in the even of a major claim; similar to home insurance. We do not want to pay for it, but it's a necessary evil.
Bro all we have to do is let healthcare be free market. The market usually solves most issues. The prices will come down to reasonable amounts. It will be much like car insurance.

I lived in a 3rd world nation that had free market healthcare. Yes the healthcare was not that great when you were looking for a specialist but everyone had access to basic preventive care.

Before Obamacare health insurance operated on a free market model. Health insurance prices were somewhat reasonable. Obamacare was a disaster for America.

And universal health care will destroy the pay scales of these jobs because the government won’t be able to pay as much.

More race to the bottom. I don’t get it.
The govt needs to get out of the healthcare industry period. But we live in a fascist nation where the state keeps expanding. Or we can do Medicaid for all and go full blown fascism. Either one is fine with me. Its just this middle ground that is the worst place to be.

Dude, big pharma and big health care will not allow that. It would make better sense to allow all to compete without States rights (protected by the 10th amendment) , but that is not going to happen. Each State has their own Insurance regulator and department. What New York allows or disallows may be different than Texas. That's the issue. Another common misconception is the the US is a democracy. That is incorrect, the US is a Republic. We do not elect our President, the Electoral College does.

My 2 cents:

It depends how old you are, how much you get paid montly and how much the private insurance costs.

If you get 3000k euros montly and the insurance is 200, I believe its well worth even if you are young and in shape...clearly it doesnt have to impact your monthly finances.

Regarding the fact that public healthcare costs less, I agree as long aas those who benefit from that are all contributors and the country is not corrupted otherwise you get less services and less effectiveness while paying much more than you should (you dont see it since they take it right from your taxes).

Personally I would love an effective public health care system as much as I would love a great welfare support however those two things are not compatible with open borders and a free for all approach where a 10 yrs contributor and a 1 year sucker count the same.

Many people in their 20s may feel they are healthy enough to skip out on health insurance. When you rarely see a doctor, and especially if things are tight financially, it may seem like a good idea to cut the health insurance expense completely from your budget.

You can pay for medical expenses as you go instead of worrying about the insurance premiums and co-payments on the way. However, this could be very difficult if you have a serious illness, an accident, or an ongoing health issue because the costs can become very large, very quickly. This is why it's essential for everyone to always have some form of health insurance.

i'm not gonna bother quoting specific people but anyone who makes the argument that public healthcare doesn't work for bigger countries cause there are more people obviously have no idea what per capita or economies of scale mean, lol.

Generally if one was to invest the same money paid for this insurance (including employer paid shares) we would be able to pay our medical bills and have money left over. The way the system works is that left over money goes to insurance company that are wealthy and to over pay medical professionals that support the insurance industry. On average... longer term self insured is going to come out more wealthy. Just get a cheaper policy that only covers problems that exceed what you could pay. Don't use insurance as a transaction system only use it to cover what you can not, then keep the returns from the investment of the same money. Being able to pay Dr. with cash will usually get you in front of the line of ppl that the Dr. will need to hassle with some insurance company to get paid. You end up with better care and money left over.

I agree.

For some countries, its essential to have one, otherwise its hard to even see a doctor, at least that was my experience when bringing a buddy to a clinic in Wales.

I suggest that for those who are young and maybe don't have the earning power to purchase one opt to work for a company that pays for one, most large MNC's do offer pretty decent health insurance/benefits.

I have paid cash for healthcare before. The key is to pay before you leave the office. This is very important. If they bill you, the bill will be the full price that no one really pays. Medicaid pays about a third and private insurance pays about 50%. If you pay before you leave, and you ask for the cash price, you can get the 50% rate.

When I broke my foot in an mma fight, the entire thing cost me $200. I did happen to know the doc, who only charged me for the xrays and not the office visit. The 200 was half price for the xrays bc I had the cash.

no one really does, votes are more to prevent problem, because if the goverment give problems they will just say its your fault you voted on him, its just a easy way out, only way to save people, would be to kill all politicians and start again, because no one is really to help, only to take and get rich on your back

So the HMO I have at my job is about $200 a month. I am in my mid 30's and rarely get sick. When I do get sick it is easily resolved by the urgent care. The urgent care costs are rarely $200 and they limit the cost to being under $300. This leads me to believe that if you should not get health insurance if you are single, healthy, and under 50 yrs old. The cost is not worth the reward when you have access to Urgent Care centers. HMO's dont even cover catastrophic events. This makes them even more worthless. What are your opinions on this?
Its like that for anyone unless you have a pregnancy or major surgery.

Most people just get a regular checkup. Might go every other year for a flu condition. Your insurance is low. Most around $250-$400 individual and $500-$1000 for a fam.

Alrternatively one could start a saving account with that money.

Estimate your realistic avg yearly cost?

Wrong - the United States is a democracy. It is a representative democracy (i.e. republic); one of the subsets of democracy, which simply means government is run by the people through elections. You should have paid attention in civics class.

An incompetent and corrupt government loves to steal to compensate and pay for their immoralities. But that will change, soon.

Wrong. We're a republic. Look it up. Wait, here, I did it for you.

We do not elect our President, the Electoral College does. Thus, we're a federal republic.

This is pathetic.

A republic is a democracy. The two are not mutually exclusive. Stop spreading your misinformation.
