After 5 minutes of convo with her and already having chatted with her in the the condiments area...

Here I'm sitting right next to her.

HB: "I'll give you my number...but I have a boyfriend"
Me:"Oh, well is this a serious boyfriend or just a guy you're dating?"
HB: "Well (laughs), we've been together for 3 years. But we're not getting married or anything."

She's sitting there with a willing hand ready to take my pen and write down her number.

Me: "OK well in that case I better not."

She nods her head in aggrement with me.

So next we're walking out of the cafeteria, but not together. I was a few steps behind her. She turned around and asked if I was going her way and I said yes. She said "Ok, then I'll walk with you." Then we talked for about 20 more seconds but at another junction, I had to go in the opposite direction of her, so I said bye. She put in good words..."nice to meet you," "take care" etc. before we split.

Should I have taken her number?

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Sounds like a women who isn't happy in the relationship and/or wants to get her freak on.

You did good, because if you did take the number she would have the upper hand. She would think this guy must really sweat me to take my number knowning that there is a bf.

No regrets.

I would have asked her right then and there if she wanted to go on a date, if no, then why call her, if yes, then of course get her number. The fact that she wasn't gonna marry the guy means she is waiting for something better to come along.

Every cute girl has some baggage, it's just the way it is. You're always taking them away from somebody, whether you know it or not.

I have tears of joy coming out of my eyes. Bill Parcels couldn't have designed a better play than that.

That is the absoute PERFECT response to that situtation.

She says she will give you her phone number.

You say, "hey, let's get together and go out later this week"

If she says "okay that sounds great" then get the number

If she says "well.." WRONG. You loose. Tell her there is no point in me getting your number if I can't call you to arrange a time to see you. All that leaves is you calling me for an emotional tampon, and I hope you didn't think you were going to pull that **** did you?

And you are right, EVERY cute/pretty woman has someone or something they are getting over. It's a law of life, which is why I don't get some guys who say "don't talk to a girl who has a BF", then you would be a very, very lonely man my friend. Girls even keep guys as seat warmers until a real guy comes along, hell I have done it before when I was younger, actually 3 times, with the same girl. She was cute, but not overly hot, and I knew if I came back she would take me, so whenever I was single I would give her a call...

Actually, yes you should have. She was shooting you IOIs and appeared somewhat interested. But you haven't displayed any good reason for her to bother venture outside her current comfortable relationship. After all, why go out to buy a cow when you've got one at home?

Instead, you want to make her your pivot. You hang out with her, show her you're cool and fun and Alpha and never show that you're sexually interested in her. In fact, adopt her as your little sister or LJBF her first, gaining the sexual upperhand. Make HER pay for YOUR drinks and **** like that.

You bag girls while she's around and her interest level in you will skyrocket. And even if she's not interested in you sexually, but enjoys hanging out with you in social settings like bars & clubs, makes her BETTER than a wingman. When other chicks see an Alpha guy with a girl all over him, they become intrigued and attracted to you. It makes bagging girls almost sinfully easy.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

You should have taken her nr, then done some SMS playing with her to get her even more interested, then arranged some casual meeting like a partymeet or watching a movie with her at your place or whatever and boom.

Wrong! Most guys (AFCs) don't have the guts to go after girls with boyfriends, believe me. By not taking her number down, you put yourself in the friendzone, instantly. Want to know why? Her boyfriend is already in the more-than-friendzone. By offering her number to you, she was inviting you into the more-than-friendzone. Turning her down not only excluded you from that category, but you also displayed nice-guy, AFC traits to her by doing so.

I wouldn't be suprised if her interest level in you has dropped greatly. If you get the chance again, ask her for the number. It may not be too late, you never know.

Like it was said before, most cute girls have "boyfriends" hanging around when they aren't really in a serious relationship. They are always on the lookout for something better than what they currently have. And if they can't find anybody, they just go back to Plan B. I think this is one of the most popular methods chicks use to weed out the wussy males when they are looking for a new man.

It's not always cut and dry. Sometimes the cute girl has a "boyfriend" who is just a seat warmer and is actually looking for something better. Other times they are more serious but still give out there numbers. Why? I think it's an ego boost like "hey, this guy likes me but he can't have me." Basically you need to judge which situation this is and take appropriate action.

I've been involved in both many times. Once a super hot girl gave me her number, suggessted we meet up, but mentioned a boyfriend in there. I went about like I hadn't heard the boyfriend statement, and I was never able to get more then a coffee date out of her after a few tries at more date like activites. Turns out she was just after attention.

In another case this girl gave me her number, but was mentioning her boyfriend a lot. However she was calling him, stupid, a nerd etc. But due to my past experience I decided not to pursue at all. Turns out this one really was shopping around as she broke up with her boyfriend and I saw her with some other guy a few months later! D'oh!!!

So you need to examine the situation. However, always get that number especially if it's tossed at you. Then you can decided what to do later. With no number you are kind of cut off.

but, what he did was efficent nevertheless.

If she isn't interested in going out with him, what the hell else can they possibly talk about besides ******** things? Yes, she may have been interested, but I think the chances were more of she was looking for attention, otherwise she wouldn't have mentioned him or would have at least waited.

I would have taken the number just to call her and see how it turned out. You did the hard part (asking for it), no point not building your experience.

Maybe she was willing to cheat on her BF. Or maybe she viewed you as a guy who would call her, chase her, boost her ego, and be her "friend". Regardless, your response was weak and for sure it "failed" a little test in her mind.

Now you won't know. And next time it happens you wont be any the wiser on what to do.

Always follow things through to build experience. (Then instead of asking us, you could have posted here telling us how it played out). ;)

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I will respond to severals posts by just providing some information that came to mind while reading the responses that I left out in the first post.

1. I did ask her about a specific date at a restaurant near the university. Immediatly, however, I remembered that she mentioned she lived in a city that is about an hour away from the university. This kinda killed that idea. But, I later said, we can go after school She was very enthusatic about this, but the topic somehow drifted, after which I asked her for her number.

2. She was very easy going with me. I think she wanted to be with me. I could sense that she just felt so comfortable with me and possibly even needed my presense. She didn't want me to leave. I think easily could have gotten sexual with her.

Note: She was sitting at a rectangular surface table for two. I sat in the middle area (longer side), but closer to her.

3. She is EXTREMELY STACKED, probably an E cup. HUGE. She has a little extra weight, but it's the type that's all good, and her stack attentuates it. She was wearing a warm up athletic nylon material bottom so I couldn't really evaluate her back. She's pretty. Personality wise, she doesn't seem like one of those popular girls. She seems to just have her own life going.

MOST IMPORTANT BELOW

4. The true reason why I didn't take her number was because I was scared of pursuing a girl with a boyfriend WHO SAID SAID SHE HAD A BOYFRIEND. If she didn't bring this up, I could always play as I didn't know, and I would be safer.

I'm concerned because there are some crazy people some woemn get with. Would I killed, beat up, etc.? There are always some boyfriends that are psychos ( or would go psycho) or the very tough alpha male types

Take for example, this other girl. I talked to her yesterday. She was cute, but from looking at her style, I could tell she hung out with badboys. She told me she likes everything, including motercylces. I offered her to take her for a cup of coffee because she did something kind for me, but she said " I can't. My boyfriend would really trip if I did that." I was picturing some tough alpha male dude that would come in with a blade and slice me or threaten to do so if I hung around his women and the way she looked and handled herself, she probably was with such a guy.
