Well, all that advice is good and all, but I gotta say, if you aren't that much of a DJ and/or you aren't very popular, you may want to start on some girls that aren't 10's. I realize there's the whole DJ mindset of any guy can get with any girl he wants if he tries, which can be true. However, to get to that point you have to start off with some more attainable girls. Don't start off by going for the hottest girls that every guy goes after. Try some 6's or 7's out.
If you still wanna try for it, then sure, go for it because you've got nothing to lose, you will just have a much better shot once you're more experienced.

tbh, if you go for 7/8 youre not going to get this girl anyway. Go chat to her, get rejected, have a laugh, get some more confidence doing this knowing you wasnt worried, go for the 7/8s. Or prove me wrong, and have her.
